CTIA Wireless Foundation Continues Accelerator Partnership with Fast Forward

Share

CTIA Wireless Foundation is proud to announce the continuation of its accelerator partnership with Fast Forward. Fast Forward is a San-Francisco based organization that mobilizes the funding, resources and support tech nonprofits need to create positive impact at scale.

Fast Forward invests in social entrepreneurs who are building technology to scale social impact. Fast Forward recently kicked off its premier program, the eighth annual Accelerator. The Accelerator helps social entrepreneurs grow their wireless solutions to meet our world’s most pressing challenges.

CTIA Wireless Foundation’s Catalyst 2020 Winners Objective Zero Foundation and MindRight Health are Fast Forward Accelerator alumni. The Catalyst program provides grants for social entrepreneurs using wireless to solve health and well-being issues. Given our shared commitment to these issues, the Foundation is proud to support the eleven innovative tech nonprofits in the Accelerator through our partnership.

This year’s cohort is building transformative tech solutions for areas ranging from healthcare to education, financial inclusion, housing justice and climate change. With organizations based in the U.S., India, Turkey and Uganda, this is the most global Accelerator cohort from Fast Forward yet.

Throughout the eleven-week Accelerator program, the cohort will receive 1-on-1 coaching, participate in workshops about fundraising, product management and pitching, as well as connect with high-caliber mentors from Fast Forward partners.

In this year’s class, 64% of the organization have a founder who is a woman, 91% have a founder who is a person of color, and 82% have a founder with personal experience with the challenge their technology seeks to solve. Fast Forward’s 2021 class showcases the diversity of the technology and social sectors, and we are proud to support these innovative tech nonprofits, which include:

  • AssistHub: Personalized checklist and recommendation engine for accessing public benefits through a web app and SMS texts.
  • Darsel: AI-powered SMS text tool teaching math in resource-constrained settings.
  • HERA: A mobile app connecting refugee mothers and children with preventative healthcare.
  • LemonTree: SMS text helpline connecting food insecure New Yorkers with food pantries.
  • Tatu Nurse: Digital app that enables capture of vital signs, helping nurses prioritize patient care.

The Foundation is proud to continue our work with Fast Forward to help social entrepreneurs using wireless technology. We are excited to see how the 2021 cohort class makes a positive impact through tech!
