Wireless AMBER Alerts

You can use wireless technology to help save an abducted child. The Wireless Foundation and the membership of CTIA-The Wireless Association have partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to deliver AMBER Alerts to wireless phones. When you sign up, you receive a free text message when an AMBER Alert is issued in your area.

Here’s how it works: Law enforcement issues an AMBER Alert and provides details to NCMEC, which formats the AMBER Alert message and sends it to Syniverse. It’s then sent to wireless carriers who send a text message to subscribers like you.

Sign up for Wireless AMBER Alerts

If your carrier participates in Wireless AMBER Alerts, simply text the word “AMBER” followed by a space and your 5-digit ZIP Code to 26237. Or, you can register at wirelessamberalerts.org. It’s quick and easy, and can make a major impact on a family in your neighborhood.
